Hi There! Thanks for dropping by to know the mind behind this blog. It’s a real pleasure to have you here.

My Name is Cyra Miles, a freelance writer by heart but a corporate slave in reality. Before and after office hours, I am a passionate slave in my writing pursuit but it is the misery in the corporate world of hotel industry that brings home the bacon.

Anyway, I am an expat for almost eight years now here in United Arab Emirates. With the skyrocketing cost of living here, I recently start to embrace the life of frugality though my mind and heart is not yet fully indoctrinated about it. Hence, I still find myself spending excessively to cave in to my unnecessary whims.

I hope that Frugal Expat brings you valuable local information about Abu Dhabi and UAE in general.

    By the way, my husband also works in one of the big hotels here in Manila, so we kinda have a lot in common. :)

    Cool! I am an ESL teacher in San Francisco, and Abu Dhabi, Dubai, and of course the UAE and larger Middle East are targets for all these teachers that I train. It seems like Abu Dhabi would have an interesting expat scene, no?
